Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Now the snow is gently falling
And the fire's brightly burning.
So it is, there's no more stalling,
Christmas Day is finally here.

What's that smell? It's duckling roasting,
For a taste we all are yearning.
What's that sound? It's old friends toasting,
Merrily ringing in the New Year.

Friends and family, pleasure taking,
Another year is soon adjourning.
Peace on Earth and goodwill making,
All for peace, stand up and cheer!

Can you feel the past retreating?
Do you see the pages turning?
New Years Day we'll soon be meeting.
If you have hope, you should not fear.

Now to bed I must be going.
